The Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Employee Resource Group at Fetch is committed to fostering a welcoming and supportive community for AAPI professionals. Our mission is to create a safe space where individuals can connect, share experiences, and celebrate the rich diversity of AAPI cultures. Through meaningful engagement, we aim to empower our members, provide opportunities for personal and professional growth, and promote cultural awareness within the workplace. Earlier this year, Courtney Brousseau, a former Civic Digital Fellow (and twitter employee for those who may have seen the headlines) tragically lost his life to an act completely random and senseless gun violence. In his honor, this fund has been created which were 10 non-profits that Courtney was donating to monthly at the time of his death. Note: At the time we cannot add San Francisco Bike Coalition because they are a 501(c)(4) - as opposed to a 501(c)(3).

It is time it take action to support others - let's begin by raising some money! AppD has established this Fundraiser to support nonprofit organizations working against racism and discrimination in their many, destructive forms. Together we can make a difference – within our companies, our communities, and across the world.

Violence against specific groups or races is not a new phenomenon in America; in early 2020, as COVID-19 cases began to appear in the U.S., violence against Asians and Asian-Americans began to increase. Since then, amplified nationalism, bigotry, and the spread of misinformation has contributed to a surge in cases of verbal harassment, physical assault leading to serious injury or even death, as well as civil-rights violations. Casper stands in solidarity with the Asian community and strongly condemns racism, hate, and xenophobia of any kind. Casper's Asian Anti-Discrimination Fund is comprised of pre-vetted nonprofits committed to supporting those who are taking a stand against racism through policy, advocacy, legal work, community-building, and education.

Over the past few months, there has been an increase in violence against Asian Americans. Just yesterday, eight people, mostly Asian American women were killed in an attack that is being investigated as a hate crime. We condemn the Anti-Asian violence and stand with our Asian colleagues and the Asian-American Community. We're highlighting these organizations to provide immediate support to the Asian Community.
