National Dog Day Fund

About

National Dog Day is celebrated annually on August 26th and recognizes the positive impact dogs have on our world and the important role they play in our lives. Not only do our canine friends bring us joy, laughter, companionship, and love - they have the innate ability to connect with humans and provide effective therapeutic and occupational services, resulting in a mutually improved quality of life. The following organizations provide rescue, animal welfare, and training services to benefit dogs and their families around the country. Donate to our National Dog Day Fund in honor of your furry pal today!

Humane World for Animals

We fight the big fights to end suffering for all animals. Together with millions of supporters, we take on puppy mills, factory farms, the fur trade, trophy hunting, animal cosmetic and chemicals testing and other cruel industries. Through our rescue, response and sanctuary work, as well as other hands-on animal care services, we help thousands of animals every year. We fight all forms of animal cruelty to achieve the vision behind our name: a humane society.

The Alliance of Therapy Dogs

We are an international registry of certified therapy dog teams. At ATD, we provide testing, certification, registration, support, and insurance for members who volunteer with their dogs in animal-assisted activities. Our objective is to form a network of caring individuals and their special dogs are willing to share smiles and joy with people, young and old alike.

Aspca

The mission of the ASPCA, as stated by our founder, Henry Bergh, is to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.

Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, Inc.

For more than 75 years, the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, Inc. (http://www.GuideDog.org), has trained and placed guide and service dogs to provide independence, enhanced mobility, and companionship to people who are blind, have low vision, or have other disabilities. The Guide Dog Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization serving clients from across the United States and Canada. The Foundation relies on contributions from generous individuals, corporations, service clubs, and foundations to fund its mission to serve people with disabilities. In addition to our guide and service dog programs, the Foundation offers extensive education and outreach programs to broaden the public's understanding of vision and visual impairment, as well as access and disability rights.
